Hi,
Could you help me understand this phrase:

Quote:
I just pulled up an old deed on one of those pieces of property Hemmer owns. It has a building on it

Does it mean that he found some old information on one of those pieces ?

Thanks !

Hi Alex

When you say 'pulled up an old deed', that means 'retrieve (a copy of) an old document of ownership'. Presumably you are retrieving the copy of the deed from a computer. The document gives you information about one of Hemmer's' properties (real estate).

Does that help?

Hi, Amy

Of course that helps !
Now I latched on to what that means.
I guess it is a slang expression, isn't it?

Thank you !

Hi Alex

I wouldn't call pull up "slang". It is just a phrasal verb. Using the verb retrieve would sound more formal, though.
