Could you also check these 2 sentences, and correct if necessary:

Quote:
Please, set forth the clock.
How many minutes? or How many? (I'm not sure which one is better...)

Quote:
Function "GetUsers" serves the only purpose to retrieve the users from the storage" (I do not know if I should use article "the" before the word function)

Thank you !

Hi Alex

What does your first sentence mean? Does it mean:

Please set the clock forward. How many minutes? How much (time)?
-OR-
Please start the timer. How many minutes? How much (time)?

Here is my suggestion for your second sentence:
The only purpose the "GetUsers" function serves is to retrieve the users from (the) storage.

Hi, Amy

Ops... sorry... I guess I made you chuckle :) I actually meant "Please set the clock forward"
So, your suggestion is : How many minutes? How much (time)

Thank you !

PS: is this correct: I do not know if I should use (the ?) article "the" before (the ?) word function ?

Yes, "How many minutes?" or "How much?" (I included the word 'time' in parentheses so that you would understand why I used 'much'.)

Yes, you should use 'the'.

Thanks again.
You know, sometimes you got stuck seeking the way of wording such simple things (which you have no problem with wording in your native language).
In Russian you would say "On how many minutes" which I though would not sound natural.

Hi Alex

You could possibly say "By how many minutes?" in English.

And you're right again: 'on' would sound weird in English. ;)
