Could you please tell me which one of the following sentences is correct and natural?

1- Don't you think a lot of your precious time is consumed in cooking?
2- Don't you think a lot of your precious time consumes in cooking?

Possibly sentence 1, but not sentence 2.

I think this would sound more natural:
Don't you think cooking consumes a lot of your precious time?
