Hi,

Have you ever seen the possessive adjective with an apostrophe at the end (its'). Is this is an old version of "its"?

Thanks,
Torsten

I don't know about old versions. Currently (as you know):

possessive = its
contraction = it's

The dog ate its bone.

It's going to be a great day!

it's probably one of the most common mistakes in English usage. I see it all the time. There are CEOs of multinational companies who cannot explain the difference between "its" and "it's".

I've never seen anybody put an apostrophe after its, but if I did see that, I would assume the same thing Tom did: It was written by one of the countless people who have never quite figured out how to write the possessive form of it correctly. Confused
