Hi,

Have you ever seen the possessive adjective with an apostrophe at the end (its'). Is this is an old version of "its"?

Thanks,
Torsten

I don't know about old versions. Currently (as you know):

possessive = its
contraction = it's

The dog ate its bone.

It's going to be a great day!

it's probably one of the most common mistakes in English usage. I see it all the time. There are CEOs of multinational companies who cannot explain the difference between "its" and "it's".

.
I've never seen anybody put an apostrophe after its, but if I did see that, I would assume the same thing Tom did: It was written by one of the countless people who have never quite figured out how to write the possessive form of it correctly. :?
