Hi

Could you please tell me of the most natural verb for the following situation? Lying?

Quote:
1- Listen, Tom, meat is ____________ in the basin. Please see to it that the cat does not spoil it.

Many thanks

Tom

PS: In my country many people would simply say: Meat is putting in the basin... (which of course is wrong)

No verb is really necessary in this gap. Why not simply say:

There's some meat (or: The meat is) in the basin* (dish?). Please see to it/make sure (that) the cat doesn't spoil it.

A basin is a big bowl. Is that what you meant, Tom?
