Here are some tips to improve your writting skills: Don't write "4" for "for" and "urself" for "yourself" - that's not cool, in fact seeing those abbreviations doesn't make me want to read any further, and I guess not only me. Write i with the capital when you mean the pronoun.
Keep up the good work and practise a lot and I wish you good luck in your endeavour to pass the TOEFL :) |

That's sms language. Those stuffs are meant for cellphones' short messages NOT for your essays, because the cellphone have a 160 characters maximum.. _________________ I can eat 5 plates of chicken rice at 1 go...! |

I'm cognizant of that. But here we do not lack for free space, so there is no need to mutilate the language using those kinds of abbreviation ;) |

Hi NS,
I agree with and Alex -- SMS language shouldn't be used in TOEFL essays. By the way, the noun 'stuff' is uncountable so 'those stuffs' doesn't exist.

Don't make that into a bad habit. You can write anything you like in your sms or personal conversations with friends but NEVER EVER use short-cut method in your essay as you will get lots of demerit points for that. Always use PROPER english in your essay..
:P :P :D Good Luck to you, dude.. _________________ I can eat 5 plates of chicken rice at 1 go...! |

Remember these points before you write an essay..
1) Do NOT use short-cut alphabets to write an essay. Always use PROPER english and spell your words in full.
2) Do NOT curse and swear in your essay.
3) Do NOT write longer than expected as you will make more mistakes and you will get more demerit points
4) Use paragraphs wisely and remember to use punctuation to concatenate your sentences. NEVER EVER rattle on and on non stop without any pause.
HTH :P (Can somebody edit my grammer or vocabulary mistakes) _________________ I can eat 5 plates of chicken rice at 1 go...! |

hi, You do not need to write all of the essays, of course. If you could spend such much time on it, you could publish a book. But practise makes perfect. After writing some of it, and hand to other people and revise them. Hope this would help. Good luck :) |
