Present Perfect (Unit 16) #151 (permalink) Mon Oct 10, 2011 22:10 pm   Present Perfect (Unit 16)

Hello I am a bit confused in using present perfect simple and present perfect continuous... I know that I use continuous when I al talking about some activity together with a time unit...
But I was making one quiz and there were two possibilities ... look here
4.Brad -- has thought(think) poorly of Marsha for a long time. (there was just this possibilities, but isnīt there a time unit ??-(for a long time)
and later there was this...
10.I -- have been thinking(think) for a long time and I -- have decided(decide) that you need to give up your job.

so I dont know why the exercise no. 4 is with has thought...
Thanks for help

[quote="Margaritka"]Hi Sunny! I had difficulties with understanding perfect tense. My understanding was not clear after finishing my school. Now it is more better.
May I rely on you ( You should continue with Tenses)

Hellow sir,
I think the man is right. I had been failing English 3 times because of tense. If you can add more on it, It will be pity to me. I would like if I can get some exciseses about the present pefect tense as it is still not clear to me.

Regards

Most of the sentences are correct. These are the only errors:

It's delicious.I have never eaten it before. (Without the 'it' you are saying you have never eaten in your entire life until now.)

I haven't had a hard exam yet in this month. (The 'in' is not needed here. It's like the 'in' you added to your sentence in another thread... this week I have...)

I have used black mark because I reckon there might be some mistakes. <-- I don't get the sense of this. Do you mean you have used a black marker pen, or black ink?

I have used bold where I thought that there might be some mistakes. I have used bold because of this. Something like that.

Why 'Where I think' ? I thought in the past, not in the present.
