Present Perfect (Unit 16) #77 (permalink) Sun Sep 13, 2009 23:30 pm   Present Perfect (Unit 16)

Dear Sahira,
First of all your question must be : What is the different between past simple and present perfect ? and not present simple?!

PRESENT PERFECT

Is used when an action happened in a certain time the past, that continued to the present time( some evidences appear on the subject)
For example: ( one who has just got out of the sea after swimming the water of the sea is dropping from him)
WE SAY: He has swum in the sea.
( also he may return to swim again).

PAST SIMPLE

Is used when an action happened in the past and finished.
(that person above when he finished swimming and clean the water on him and rested on the beach).WE SAY: He swum in the sea.
I hope I've been helpful.
