The trip lasted 10 hours (past)
The trip takes 10 hours (future or present)
These answer how long it takes to get to the destination, and are the most common.

You could also say "It is a 10 hour journey", which means it is a difficult or especially long trip. Or "I will be traveling for 10 hours".

Journey is more like an adventure, traveling and learning something at the same time . . . growing.

I hope this helps!
