The best way to speak on a topic comprises of few key aspects

1) knowledge of the topic

It is essential that you know what you are given if you don't have a prior knowledge of the topic, you will falter. So reading is the best way to gain more knowledge of everyday happenings as you never know what topic will be given on a test day.

2) Brainstorming

Once a topic is given to you quickly write down key terms that you will explain in your words later on, elaborate those points that you have written down in the allotted 20 secs.

3) Be sure the sentences are short and understandable.

DOnt make long sentences else there will more chance of making a mistake.

4) Try to reduce redundancy

I have seen many speakers including myself fall in this trap, speaking the same line again and again is sure sign of lack of knowledge of the subject so make sure you dont repeat the same statement again and again.

I think this much is enough for speaking section. Just calm down and be slow, don't hurry.
