It looks like an old-fashioned conjugation of the verb to think

Here are a few quotes from the Bible:

The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away
My cup runneth over
etc...

think/thinks/thought

He thinketh that the world is flat.

= He thinks that the world is flat.
= He thought (used to think) that the world is flat.

I wonder how (or if...) they were able to tell the difference between present and past tense.
