I agree with Lost_Soul.
A (didn't) is correct.
The first person says: "You shouldn't have gone there alone." That means that the first person believes that the second person went there alone and thinks that going there alone was not a good idea.
The second person then replies: "But I didn't (go there alone), because Tom went there, too."
