Hi,

I just heard this phrase:

Quote:
--Hey ! Just heard the news over the squat box ! That's nice work, Homer
--Thank you! Thank you very much ! It is nice work !

I'm not sure it was exactly the squat box, but it sounded very similar to that phrase. Could you share with me your ideas as to what it might mean?

Just in case I uploaded a short clip with the phrase:

Thank you !

Both 'squat' and 'squawk' have the same vowel sound in American English, hence the easy confusion, Alex.

Hi Alex

I'd say the pronunciation of squawk varies regionally in the US.

The way I pronounce the word "squawk" is like the pronunciation provided by the American Heritage Dictionary:

The pronunciation in your clip is closer to the pronunciation provided by Webster's Dictionary.
