Hi teachers,

This is from a song lyric of Beautiful girls by JoJo.
I don't understand why we use the word "way" in this sentence.

I'm waiting for your explanation.

Thanks in advance

Hi Jupiter

This usage of 'way' means 'much' or 'far'. It is used as an adverb:

'way too cool' = 'far too cool' = 'much too cool'

Hello Amy,

Thanks a lot for your help.

I've got another question from that lyric too.

What does "All that ice upon ya chain" mean?

Thanks

These definitions from the Urban Dictionary might help:

Chain:
Quote:
A rapper's source of power. The sunlight to his birdman. Without a chain of platinum/gold/diamonds/bones, a rapper loses his ability to drop tight flows over phat beats. The is an absolute necessity, and its importance should not be taken lightly.

Ice:
Quote:
Expensive jewelry, usually in the form of diamonds that is worn in either necklace, ring, chain, or earrings
