the actual word you are trying to spell is "gaudy" it was actually a spanish architect that made very overly ornate structures, so basically when someone says "this painting is gaudy" it means that it is overly busy and is extremely ornate

A good guess at the word but terrible etymology. Gaudy does not come from Antoni Gaudi (1852-1926), but has been a part of the English language since at least the late 16th century.

The name Gaudi might have derived from the Latin word "gaudium".

His full name was Antoni Gaudí i Cornet. Nothing to do with elaborate ice-cream, I think, Torsten. :lol:
