Gaze at Glare at

I really can't differentiate between Glare at & Gaze at.

Hi lilish,

Both verbs describe ways of looking at someone/something. Glare at suggests you are very angry as in: Michael glared at his mother when she started talking about what he was like as a baby, in front of his new girlfriend.

Gaze at suggests that you are very impressed or moved as in: Michael gazed at his new girlfriend thinking how beautiful and wonderful she was.
