Is there anyone here who's interested in literature? Very Happy

I'm reading a book The Shakespeare Code by Virginia M. Fellows in which she gives some "proofs" that Shakespeare isn't the author of his works but Francis Bacon. Actually, in the beginning she says that Bacon published a book about his system of hiding important messages in October 1623, just one month before the First Folio was published. But, I couldn't find anything about Virgina Fellows nor any information about Bacon's book on the Internet. So, is there anyone who can supply me with some useful information about where I could search for it?

I'm not a supporter of this theory and I don't like the idea that Shakespeare wasn't a person or a writer who we really think he was. We know that his life is veiled with mystery and that is probably the thing which really makes him so attractive to us (apart from his works). This is probably the most debated theme for the last 200 years and I would like to hear different points of view regarding this subject (which could help me to form my opinion). My country lacks readings concerning my interest, so I would be most grateful to those who can provide me with some further readings!

Hi Jovana,

Francis Bacon is one of many possible candidates. At university, our prof favoured Edward de Vere (according to the Oxfordian theory), but there are many more. You could check the Wikipidia authership question, the Fulke Greville theory that feeds on a computer analysis of Shakespear's sonnets or Christpher Marlow. The Earl of Rutland and the Earl of Derby are two of many other possible candidates.

Thank you, Ralf!

I know there are many possible candidates and you gave me some links where I found out something I didn't know before. But, what I want to know is the title of Bacon's book about writing in codes (if there is such a thing at all--because the author of the book I'm reading at he moment didn't give herself the trouble of writing it as if it wasn't so important, which says a lot about the writer, by the way).
