It depends (if I'm wrong, teachers, please correct me)
If you use : 1) I will go to school at 6 o'clock tomorrow it means that you have decided to go there at 6 o'clock (but maybe you go there usually at 7) example : Sue: Are you going to school tomorrow? You : Well... Yes, but I think I'll be there at 6 o'clock (but Sue and you usually go to school at 7 o'clock) 2) I think it's incorrect. You can't say "I go to school tomorrow" it doesn't make any sense ( "I go to school at 6 o'clock everyday" would be correct, for instance) 3) I'm going (to go) to school at 6 o'clock tomorrow. would be correct, but it indicates that it's something temporary (for instance you must go there at 6 o'clock to help your friend to do their homework, but usually you go to school at 7 o'clock) _________________ absens carens

Hi,
Just one other point. There is an instance when we can use the Present Simple with a future meaning. That is when we want to refer to some fixed future event that is often in a plan or a schedule as in:
The President arrives at the airport at 7 am tomorrow.
You might like to look at some material I've written for the site on ways of expressing the future:
Future Tense or "Jealousy" _________________ English as a Second Language You can read my ESL story Well, Hello! |

Present simple is almost the same as GOING TO but it's not quite as personal. what does " it's not quite as personal" mean? _________________ Try to change youself before you try to change others. |
