When Mary had finished with the magazines she took them round to her friend and gave them to her.

"take ...round to ..." Does that mean 'return ...to"...or I guess it means "take... to sb by the way"...?
=Mary returned them to her friend.

Let's walk round to the cinema....?

Besides in this sentence why there is a "with" following the word "finished" could i say When she finished the magazines?

1. To take something round to someone means to take it to their house.

'Walk round to the cinema' just means 'walk to the cinema' or 'walk in the direction of the cinema'.

2. To finish the magazines could mean to finish writing, designing, editing or printing them, for example.

If you have finished with the magazines, you don't need them or aren't going to use them any longer.
