New York is playing Boston. Sun Nov 04, 2007 19:01 pm  New York is playing Boston.

There is a baseball game on television tonight.New York is playing Boston.
Could I say New York is palying with Boston?
Or New York vs. Boston.
New York is competing with Boston.

Which one is true English.

Could I say New York is palying with Boston? No.
Or New York vs. Boston. Yes, possibly.
New York is competing with Boston. Well, it wouldn't be grammatically wrong to say that, but it also wouldn't be the most typical thing to say.

You could also say something like this:
Tonight, the (New York) Yankees take on the (Boston) Red Sox.

Which one is true English.

what about on tonight's television No, don't say that.
instead of on television tonight? Yes, that's fine.

Many thanks~~
