. They are all different forms of the same word-- noun/verb, adjective, present participl, and past participle, respectively. The word can be found in any dictionary. In this test sentence, the adjective is called for-- 'This is ridiculous!' . _________________ Native English teacher at Mister Micawber's |

Can we use 'absurd' or 'ludicrous' instead of ridiculous or do they sound inane in this context:
This is (absolutely) ludicrous. Do you have anything at all? This is (most) absurd. Do you have anything at all?
