'Ridicule' can be used both as a noun and as a verb. See its definition here.

.
They are all different forms of the same word-- noun/verb, adjective, present participl, and past participle, respectively. The word can be found in any dictionary. In this test sentence, the adjective is called for-- 'This is ridiculous!'

What does ridicule mean? or ridiculous? or ridiculing? or ridiculed? #4 (permalink) Fri Dec 18, 2009 14:31 pm   What does ridicule mean? or ridiculous? or ridiculing? or ridiculed?

Can we use 'absurd' or 'ludicrous' instead of ridiculous or do they sound inane in this context:

This is (absolutely) ludicrous. Do you have anything at all?
This is (most) absurd. Do you have anything at all?

Thanks
