Hi,

These examples show you the most important uses of make and do.

Things we make
a mistake You made a few mistakes.
a meal (=prepare) I'll make lunch today.
money (=become rich) He made a lot of money.
friends I made a lot of friends.
a desition I made a decision.
a noise Children often make a lot of noise.
progress (=become better) Your English is good now; you made a lot of progress.
a difference (=have an effect on a situation) The extra money makes a big difference to us.

Things we do
homework
the housework
a subject (=study a subject) What subjects do you do at school?
a course I'm doing English course at the moment.
the sopping, the jogging, the washing up, the cooking. I always do the shopping at the weekend.
research I'm doing research in chemistry at university.
somebody a favour Could you do me a favour?
well (=succeed) I did well at English.
something/ nothing/ anything He didn't do anything last night.
