Hi

Could you please tell me how the use of "later this year" sounds to you in the following sentencs?

Quote:
I intend to go back to my country later this year.

The sentence was spoken somewhere in April and the speaker meant November or December by "later this year".

Hi,

to me it sounds alright but I'd rather say "sometime this year", or if you really want to precise the date: "in/next November or December".

Hi Tom

Here is another non-moderator comment. Wink

Saying 'later this year' is OK. I would interpret it to mean 'before the end of the year'. It could mean almost any month after now.

Theoretically, you could also say 'late this year', and that would suggest December or possibly November to me.
