Is 'heart' uncountable in this expression? An urdu writer has written this sentence.

There are too many "withs" in that sentence. And I think "heart" should be countable, and that in this case "emotion" should be uncountable.

I'd say, "Hearts filled with emotion, they bid him farewell."

Yes, the second one is correct also, but I don't think it's quite as good when you make "emotion" plural.
