Heard recently this expression:
"Have someone to sound off to"!!! I kind of guessed the meaning from the context, however I would appreciate an explanation of this idiom.

Thank you for the explanation, so just to confirm, we can say e.g. "She has always been around when I needed someone to sound off to".
