| Either 'shall' or 'will' can be used. 'Shall' sounds formal, though. |

Don't use "shall" in North America, though, because we almost never use it here. For us, "shall" tends to mean that someone is not going to let any obstacle stop him from doing something, while "will" just indicates that he plans to do it. Sometimes you hear people say, "I will and I shall!" That means they want and plan to do it (will), and that they will definitely, unstoppably do it (shall).
In North America, if you say, "I'll visit Toronto next week," it just means you plan to do it. If you say, "I shall visit Toronto next week," it means either that you are trying to be funny by imitating an elderly Englishman in an old film, or that you are going to visit Toronto no matter what happens. If you "shall" visit Toronto, it means you're going to visit the place even if you have to break out of jail, swim there, or fight a galloping horde of Mongols who are shooting arrows at you. |

In this case, I'd say 'use shall' in the US -- if you want to be funny, that is (if by doing so you bring a smile on someone's face, it's worth it). |

Actually, you wouldn't sound funny to us. You'd merely sound determined. |
