what does 'running for their lives' mean? Fri Nov 23, 2007 21:11 pm  what does 'running for their lives' mean?

Hi, guys

What does 'running for their lives' mean?

I found out the answer that it means running away from danger or they are running to save their life. Am I right? I hope I can get more details about what does it mean. Could you help me? I mean would you please give me more explanations? Thanks in advance.

Your understanding of the expression is exactly right. There's nothing more to be said, other than that sometimes the expression is used when the situation is less than life-threatening.

Thanks so much, Jamie.

Actually, I haven't come here for a long time. Here people are still so enthusiastic. I feel touched indeed.
