Could you proofread this sentence, please

PS: Incidentally, do you find my usage of "proofread" in the first sentence natural, or should I have said "Could you read and correct this sentence" instead?

You used the word "proofread" correctly.

The only error in the sentence is that you wrote "gonna", which is really bad.

Also, you don't need to say "car accident". You've already said you wrecked the car in it, so you can just say "accident".

Another little thing for perfection's sake:

I'd suggest spelling out short numbers, especially one through nine.

But do we want to be perfect?

Yes, depending on the style manual you use, one through nine are spelled out, and all numbers 10 and above are written in numerals.
