Hi,

I know that "take out" might mean "obtain a legal document"
Could you tell me if the sentences below sound natural to you:

Quote:
1. In Russia a person takes out an ID card when they become 16 (or at the age of 16 ?)
2. I took out my driver license four years ago

Those don't sound natural to me. I think it's better to use the word "receive" instead of "take out", because the document is issued by the authorities, not simply taken by the person who wants it.
