Hi! I'm a Registered Nurse and I am planning to take the TOEIC exam sometime soon. I have already taken the IELTS exam and unfortunatley, I did not get a favorable result. I am looking for an exam that would evaluate my English proficiency in an entirely objective and standardized manner. Kindly share your ideas or experiences as far as the difference among these three exams are concerned. I am really looking forward to do better with this one, for RNs the CGFNS require a 725 score.

Additional Questions :

1. How much time should I allot for the preparation/practice prior to taking the TOEIC exam?
2. If ever I am not satisfied with the result, can I immediately take the exam again? Until how many times can I take this exam?

Hi Aby,

The best preparation for the TOEIC test is using English on a regular basis. Instead of consuming information in your native language, use English instead. As for your second question, yes you can take the TOEIC test as often as you like but your results won't differ much if your English doesn't improve between two test sessions.

Let me know what you think.
Regards,
Torsten
