Is using the word "pregnant' for animals and birds correct and natural?

Yes, Tom, you can say that an animal is pregnant. I have to say, however, that I don't think I've ever actually had a conversation about a pregnant sparrow. :wink:

I prefer using "knocked-up" as the adjective to describe pregnant female humans.
