hello every one,
Would you kindly see if the following sentence is correct,and I would also like to know wether "peace of mind " works in this sentence.

Having no hope for the future causes the young people to lose their peace of mind and act rebelliously.

I think "the" in that sentence is unnecessary, so I dropped it, and also changed the ending a bit;therefore, here's the reconstructed version, "having no hope for the future causes young people to lose their peace of mind and act in a rebellious manner."
