Fill in the blank with the suitable prepositions:

1.The excercise was...the abilities....most....the class.

2.Students were angry...being treated...children.

3.We can only guess...her reason...leaving.

4.Her father's illness cost a cloud...her wedding.

PLEASE DO THIS EXCERCISE FOR ME.
I FIND SOME OF THEM ARE VERY DIFFICULT.

I think that you might have made a mistake in sentence 4. Maybe "cast a cloud" ?

Actually, you can do most of it by solely using any comprehensive on-line dictionary. Smile
Just try looking up words like "angry" and "reason" and pay attention to the preposition(s) they go together with.

.
'Cast' means throw, put-- to cast a cloud over something is an idiom meaning to create an unhappy atmosphere, to introduce an unpleasant element into a situation.

1.Beyond;of;of -- Right!
2.about;like
3at / (about);for
4.over
.

Hi, MM

Can we say just We can only guess her reasons for leaving? Because we can say "I guessed the answer" or "Can you guess what his name is" ?

Thanks !
