Could you please tell me the difference between advancement and advance (as a noun) ?
Invention of computers is considered an advancement or an advance ? (I chose the former but was not sure about it when looking up afterwards)

Hi,

'Advance' is often associated with the idea of increased development or improvement as in: 'Advances in technolgy now make the laptop more popular than the desktop computer'

'Advancement' is more of a long term, developing progression forwards as in: advancement in your career, advancement in civilization, advancement in the promotion of literacy and numeracy.
