Hi Zahir,
Thanks a lot for your suggestion. What do you think should the Hall of Fame look like -- just a forum thread where the names of the most active forum members are listed or did you think of something else?
Regards, Torsten

Hello Torsten,
That can be in different ways depending on how your web master can do it... I think this should include the names of the most active forum members with the number of posts and this page should be updated daily or weekly. I am sure this will increase the number of people who wish to post more... I have seen that in one web site, in which people contest with each other in this regard... Yet they do not post stupidity, the quaity of posts are very good.
Again, I am not sure about how your web master can do that in the best way, this is just an idea I thought useful...

Hi, Torsten and everyone who is wild about this site :)
I'd suggest a different implementation of the system for honouring the members of this site (as I have seen how it is done on other forums) - to introduce a system of ranks based on the number of the user's posts. I know this idea is largely implemented here, but you become "I'm a communicator" after you reach 100 or so posts which is not many. I think all we need to modify is the amount of posts after which a member becomes a communicator. Set it to, say, 2000. This way we can honour our most active contributors, and it would not take much effort to change the software. |

Hi Alex,
Thanks a lot for your ideas -- we have now increased the communicator threshold to 1000 posts and we can do another 'update' in a couple of months. In the meantime, we are going to add some new features: Every 'communicator' will get their own forum profile page which contains a description of their skills and contributions. We also might have a 'forum member of the month' in our newsletter, etc.
What do you think?

Hi, Torsten
I'm delighted to see the changes (of the communicator threshold) you and your team have ushered into this site ! :) And yes, your idea of adding a new profile page with user skills and so on sounds awesome. I'm intrigued about what it will look like and I look forward to seeing it. BTW: I was also pleased to find out that the number of visitors is growing in leaps and bounds - the max number of users online has increased to 129, we're getting more and more popular :) |

That's a nice idea, Torsten.
By the way, I'm not sure I would have referred to a third of my life as being "several years". I'm not quite that young. . _________________ "Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power." ~ Abraham Lincoln |
