. 'Whom' is the object pronoun; 'whose' is the possessive adjective. . _________________ Native English teacher at Mister Micawber's |

Previous question : My mother is the one who sings on TV every morning.
The next question: ......... shoes are those?
and the answer is whose, why not who?
Thank you |

. 'who sings' = subject + verb 'whose shoes are' = adjective + subject + verb . _________________ Native English teacher at Mister Micawber's |

Here is a simple summary, Lourdes:
Subject pronouns: who, I, he, she, we, they. Who bought the hat? She bought the hat. Object pronouns: whom, me, him, her, us, them. The car hit whom? The car hit him. Possessive adjectives: whose, my, his, her, our, their. Whose dog is this? This is her dog. Possessive pronouns: whose, mine, his, hers, ours, theirs. Whose is this? This is mine.
Does that help? _________________ Native English teacher at Mister Micawber's |

Hi Lourdes,
Here are both pronouns in the same sentence: A man whom I saw just now was the man whose car you hit just now.
