Hi,

I asked my pupils to use "observe" and one of the sentences I received is "The hawk is observing its prey".

Should I accept it?

Thanks.

Yes, you should accept it. Hawks can observe their prey, and any predatory animal can observe its prey.

As the famous baseball coach Yogi Berra once said, "You can observe a lot just by watching."
