I made the test related to the modal verbs and my score was 10 out of 10 at the first attempt . It was easy.
Thanks for the opportunity to do the tests and to have so many interesting lessons.

Hi Julia,

It's great to you liked the test. Please note the difference between "I made the test" and "I did the test". If you make a test, you create or write it. If you take or do a test, you complete it.

Regards,
Torsten

Dear Mr.Torsten,

Thank you very much your help. I'm very excited when I recieve your new lesson.
I've just answered the test. I answered 8 questions correctly. I'm still confused about "must" and "have to". In which case should I use "have to" or "must"?. Are these two words same? Please explain me.

Thanks and regards,
Nandia

Hi,

Obviously we use the different forms of 'have to' sometimes when 'must' isn't possible as it doesn't have all the principal parts of the verb. When there is a choice, 'must' is the stronger of the two and suggests absolute necessity as in: You must keep your car tyres pumped to the correct pressure, or you will have an accident.

'Have to' is often an obligation that comes from outside as in: I have to sign a book when I arrive for work so that it is clear what time I arrived.
