Nope, Torsten, sounds like you are giving me a great few names of games, instead. What messages in the games do you want to give to your group or friends? Who are they? Perhaps, you have to ask these questions before you decide what kinds of games to play or what to do next... _________________ Nicholas |

I always loved playing Win, lose or draw, an American TV show as I remember it. It's where players are divided by two groups and each group will give their opponent a sentence or a word. Then one member from the same group will try to draw the sentence given until his/her group can guess the correct sentence/word.
But we often played the game by acting them out instead of drawing the sentence/word. You can tell them how many words there are in the sentence or how many syllables there are in the word your group are trying to guess. Without speaking of course, with signs.
We used to play this in school, and it was really fun. Usually we guess idioms. Bless my teacher for being such a fun person _________________ Okotteru Papa mo suki dakedo, nikoniko yasashii Papa ha mo~tto suki! |

The commercial version of this game that can be bought it a box is called "Pictionary", and that's often what people call the informal version of it now.

This game is called "charades".
Once I used in a class of 13-year-olds a game that my little sister and I made up, called "Describe-a-Guy". We just thought of someone, described the person feature by feature, and had the other person draw him. At the end, we revealed who the person was and could see how much the drawing resembled the real person, or didn't. We even enjoyed this game as adults, but with preadolescents it's tough to keep control of the class, because the kids go so wild. |

This is Mafia, the game and pub questions are questions that are asked during a pub quiz. _________________ Test Of English for International Communication TOEIC Preparation & TOEIC Vocabulary |

Is "playing mafia" a bit like finding out whodunnit?
Anyway, pub questions are usually asked in a pub quiz. It can be a serious question as in "Where do people celebrate Boxing Day?" or "What did JF Kennedy mean when he said he was a doughnut?" or a christmas cracker question à la "What's 40 meters long and can sing?" _________________ Test of English as a Foreign Language TOEFL Preparation & TOEFL Vocabulary Learn more: How to Become an English Teacher |

Hi Nicholas,
Well the idea is to invite some friends to an event that is more than just spending time at a pub. We have done bowling nights and birthday parties before and would like to try something new for a change. There is no particular agenda or message I want to get across with this.
So, what do you think? Thanks, Torsten _________________ Test Of English for International Communication TOEIC Preparation & TOEIC Vocabulary |

Yes, it's similar but I find Mafia much more entertaining. _________________ Test Of English for International Communication TOEIC Preparation & TOEIC Vocabulary |
