TOEFL essay example: How to use a given land? Tue Jan 15, 2008 12:20 pm  TOEFL essay example: How to use a given land?

Imagine that you have received some land to use as u wish. How would u use this land? Would u use the land to earn a profit or to preserve nature?

If I were so fortunate as to have some land at my disposal,I'd rather to use it for the purpose of preserving nature instead of earning a profit. Specifically, I will build a park on the land.

First of all, I'm living in such a noisy and polluted city that I wish I had some place to stay away from the noise and pollution, and a park is ideal for my desire. It will give me as well as other people a wonderful environment that is good for our physical and mental health. In the park, we can relax under the shadow of trees, take deep breath of fresh air from the surrounding. Therefore we can refresh after a long week full of stressful work.

Secondly, the park will also serve as a natural habitat for many kinds of animals. Flock of birds can make their nest on the trees and we can watch them and listen to their singing in the morning, imagine how wonderful it is. Small mammal animals such as squirrel, rabbits, etc can also find their home here. And even freshwater fish can swim freely in small ponds and lakes of the park. In my park, animals will be taken care of and protected carefully. The expenses for the caring of them will be contributed by the small fee I charge people when they go to my park.

To sum up, a park will not only be a place where every people can relax and enjoy beautiful natural environment but also a habitat for wildlife. Because of these great benefits that I decide to build a park if I were given a land.

If I were so fortunate as to have some lands at my disposal,I'd rather(you should not use any abbreviations in a formal writing) to use it for the purpose of preserving nature instead of earning a profit. Specifically, I will build a park on the land.

Secondly, the park will also serve as a natural habitat for many kinds of animals. Flock of birds can make their nest on the trees and we can watch them and ( you use this word 2 times in a sentence)listen to their singing in the morning, imagine how wonderful it is.
