Hi,

Could you help me how to say correctly these simple maths expressions?

2 + 2 = 4 (e.g. 2 plus 2 is four? OR 2 and 2 are 4? or ?)
4 - 2 = 2 (e.g. 4 minus 2 is / are 2 ...., 4 minus 2 equals (with?) 2)
4 : 2 = 2 (e.g. 4 divided with / by (?) 2 is 2)
2 x 2 = 4 (e.g. 2 times 2 is / are (?) 4)

Thanks a lot
Liza

.
There are some variations among regions. Here are the ones I know:

2 + 2 = 4 (2 plus 2 is/equals four; 2 and 2 is/are/equal(s) 4; two 2's are 4)
4 - 2 = 2 (4 minus 2 is/equals 2; 4 less 2 is/equals 2)
4 / 2 = 2 (4 divided by 2 is/equals 2; 2 goes into 4 two times)
2 x 2 = 4 (2 times 2 is/equals 4; two 2's is 4; 2 multiplied by 2 is/equals 4)
.
