Any new year resolution(s)? #16 (permalink) Wed Dec 31, 2008 11:38 am   Any new year resolution(s)?

Are you planning to make any resolutions for this new year? Did you make any in the past? Were you able to keep them?

Happy New Year!

Hey,

Thanks for resurrecting the thread from the past year. I am curious to see whether the members kept their promises, especially Alan. :P

As for me, I kept up to my resolutions - obtained driver's license and improved both my mental and physical performance.

The resolutions for the upcoming year are somewhat similar - furtherering my spiritual/mental horizon as well as my body function. The latter will be accomplished by the means of sub-resolutions - careful nutrition selection, implementing yoga in my routine.

Also, I must stop playing PC games.

And last but not least, attending university abroad.

Regards

I stayed home last night only to ensure that my dream for exercising come true this morning. I am enjoying this beautiful morning more than the new year's eve !

And it was my trainer in the gym who greeted me with 'Happy New Year' :)

I've long since dropped out of school. I'm not going back for a JD (Juris Doctor -- law degree), nor for a second Bachelor's degree (which would likely be in Sociology -- I LOVE Demography, but I don't want to be a demographer). Medicine is out of the question -- I don't have ten years to lose. And while I am a Free Enterprise zealot, I don't want to spend 3-7+ years finding evidence to support things I've already confirmed, just to write a 100-page paper to get another piece of paper to thumb-tack to my bathroom wall. I do not wish to undertake studies for a DBA (Doctor of Business Administration).

I'm happy with my BA-Journalism from Wisconsin and my MBA (Master of Business Administration) from Belmont.

The key is to put them to better use.

Therefore, I hereby swear that forthwith I will increase my resolve to complete the following missions:

1. To finally finish "The Grammar Nazi", my (still) in-progress short story, and attempt to sell it for publishing

and

2. To work harder, using all knowledge at my disposal, at being the best motion-picture-startup business director I can be.

Those two things... and the pursuit of music, my first love. (movies need soundtracks, and we're gonna try to write our own stuff to lessen production cost... I'm on it!)
