Hi Folks,

I have just been wandering around with that issue. I don't know if you have to add "s" in those sort of senteces. I think so 'cause "third person rule", I mean, it would go like this: He does speakS a lot! But actually I am not sure if this emphasis in statemens like this (Mostly third person) need to be added the "s". Hopefully I await a good explanation...

Hi,

The 's' you mention following the rule for 3rd person singular is already shown in the auxiliary 'does' and therefore is not needed in the verb 'speak'. 'Do' and 'does' in the present and 'did' in the past can be used for emphasis but the verb following is in the infinitive form.
