I've been noticing that in a lot of countries members of parliament have immunity from criminal prosecution. Sometimes it happens that if they are guilty of some big crime, like embezzling or even murder, they can succeed in getting themselves elected to parliament, and then they can never be arrested.

I can't think of any idea as bad as giving criminal immunity to politicians. In my country they don't have it, and they can be arrested for criminal acts.

What do you think about this?

AFAIK, in Russia politicans still have that sort of immunity (we call it "неприкосновенность" which might be roughly translated as "untouchness", like "you can't touch them", but I certainly wouldn't want to do that, not for the world!). When I first heard of it it seemed outrageous to me - how come those scumbags can do whatever they want and get away with it. Although who lays down the law in these here parts - they do - and they want to secure their puny lives from any prosecutions!
