I got my TOEFL® score + question about the test

hey everybody!!!
I have just seen my TOEFL score, here it is:

Reading:29 (expected 23-26)
Listening:28 (expected 25-28 )
Speaking:18 (????? expected 23-26)
Writing:22 (expected 23-26)

Total:97

It is not that bad, but with this score i have some problems. to go to Chicago i need at least 100 (damn 3 points), and to go to Boston i need 84 but at least 23 on the speaking.
Due to this issue i was wondering if i can try again just the speaking part (or both speaking and writing). is it possible? tell me everything about my possibilities.

If you want to try again only the speaking part, I'm afraid that there isn't such option. But you can take the whole TOEFL test 2 months after you took your fist one.
I hope it's that's a kind of help you needed!
My turn to ask for some help! :)
I was wondering if you could tell me what strategies to use when doing the reading part, because I need a score of 25 for each part, but have some difficulties with the reading.

I think that the only way to get a grat score in the reading part is to be very confident with this section of the toefl. I mean, you should know perfectly how the questions you could find are. due to this i think that if you practice with many reading samples you can do the reading part very easily.
the listening part needs a different approach, you should be able to understand almost all what they say but most importantly you should be able to take notes very carefully. When i started to practice with the listening part i found that i could not answer some questions even if i could understand all the passage. this was caused by the way i took notes. if you do not take good notes you won't be able to know some questions even if the listening passage would be in your own language. so my advice is to practice with the way to take notes. it will be helpful even in the speaking and writing part.

You can rescore the speaking or writing part for 60$, or you can rescore both for 120$. You have great scores in reading and listening sections. Congratulations!
Maybe it'll be better for you to rescore the other 2 sections.

here i am again...
I got my rescore and.....

i got 22 on the speaking part (from 18 ) and a 25 on the writing part (from 22)... just as i expected! So now i have a wonderful 104!!!!

All of this means that if u are sure your toefl went better than your scores say.. ask immediatly for the rescore!!

I owe you a big THANK YOU! I followed your advice and got pretty good results on the Reading and Listening, but it turned up that now I've got the same problem as you did:

Reading - 26 :D
Listening - 27
Speaking - 20 (expected 26-28 :!: :?: )
Writing - 20 (expected 27-29 :!: :?: )

I was really disappointed when seeing these low scores last night, so I'll try that rescoring reques form...

i took my exam last june 22 & i received my toefl score (total score-94) last week - reading-25,listening-24,speaking-20 & writing-25. sadly, i didn't make it on the speaking part.the institution i'm applying for requires a score of 26.do you think my score on the speaking part is too low to ask for a rescore? should i apply for a rescore or should i retake the exam?i need your advice guys,i'm kinda depress right now! :(

i guess that it might be a bit difficult to reach a 26 from a 20; But remember that if u are sure you did better then a 20 you should ask for the rescore cause if there are any changes in the new score report you won't pay the fee so at least you didn't waste your money!
