Hi, I'm a new member and I was just reading the different topics and questions which are really interesting I think. I know you already got an answer to your question but I was just thinking of putting your sentence another way. What do you think of : "I can't afford going to restaurants all the time / every day." Do you think there's a difference of meaning?

It suggests that the speaker may indeed be going to restaurants frequently, and is spending too much money.
