Hi Myriam,

I'm pleased to meet you. Why did you live in France as a child and do you still speak French?

Regards,
Torsten

Hi there everyone! My name is Myriam and I'm German. #7 (permalink) Sat Feb 09, 2008 18:27 pm   Hi there everyone! My name is Myriam and I'm German.

@ Torsten: my parents met in france, my father was born in algeria and emigrated to france after the franco-algerian war; my mother is german so they spoke french with each other and when i was born my first language was french. when we moved to germany we still spoke french at home -- but it turned into a mix of french and german ..so i still speak french, but my english is much better now than my french.

@ Boke: i guess that depends on the individual. but in general i'd say english is not so difficult to learn compared to other languages. speaking french helps sometimes, because some of vocabulary is very similar Smile
where are you from? is english you first language?

@ Ivona: thank you Smile i like bremen too now, since i left it Smile) and unfortunately i haven't been to croatia yet. but i heard that it is very beautiful too. my ex boyfriend went to split - i think that what it is called - for a holiday and loved it Smile

what did you do in bremen, just visit or did you study there?
