Here is another one:
Topic:Many people have learned a foreign language in their own country, others learn it in the country in which it is spoken. Which is better? Give the advantages of each and support your view point.
Essay: When it is about learning a foreign language, most people do it in their own country, while others learn it in the country where the language is spoken. Both ways of learning a foreign language have their advantages but only you decide which way to choose.
Learning a foreign language in your own country is the most common way of doing it. And there is a very logical explanation about it. When you face something new, for example the grammar or a list of unknown words, you need them to be translated and explained on your language so you could understand these new things. It is impossible to deal with something so difficult like a foreign language when you know nothing about it, unless you compare it with your language. This is hardly achievable in the foreign country.
As a contrast, if you want to know a foreign language like your mother’s tongue, you should learn it in the country where it is spoken because practice is the best teacher. In the beginning it will be hard to understand what people are saying and that’s for sure. But as the time passes everything gets clearer. Learning a foreign language in the country where it is spoken is not for everybody – only a very ambitious person can cope with this.
In my view, the best you can do is to learn the bases of the language in your country so there will be someone to explain it to you, and then go to the country where it is spoken to upgrade your knowledge. This way you will get the best of both methods of learning a language – a good start, and practice to improve. Then success is guaranteed.
When learning a foreign language many people prefer to do it in their own country which is the easier way of doing it. Another group of people learn it in the country where it is spoken – they practice it all the time and learn it this way. But the best what can be done is to combine these two ways because there isn’t a better one, but the combination of them.
