Got 107 TOEFL® score and ... disappointed a little.

thanks, parabellum. btw, how many passages are there in the reading section? coz' as far as i can recall, i think i only got 3 reading passages.
and i think i kind of messed up my writing though. i made a mistake like "i give this to jim" where it was supposed to be written like "i give this to kevin"
and i'm scared that somehow it would affect my scores in the writing part.
i could be overreacting though^^

I had 5 passages. They usually give 3 or 5 passages, so if you had 3 it's OK.

It may affect the score a little. But if the rest of the essay is good they won't take many points, I think so. Anyway, don't think about it too much. I remember I wasn't able to check properly the second essay and when the time was gone I saw one mistake I couldn't correct. Then I was thinking that I wrote smth. stupid, then other doubts come to my mind.
Follow my advice, just try not to think about the TOEFL next few weeks. Try to do smth. instead. It's stressing to wait the result, I know it on my own experience.

Yes, it's true, iBT includes such set of questions lately, either in the reading or in the listening part.
So, if you get such reading/listening passage it won't be scored.

My reading score was much better than i had expected. Wish you the same ;))))

hey guys. i just received my toefl ibt scores
i got:

reading 27
listening 21
speaking 23
writing 27
total : 98

quite a shock. coz i thought that i did worse on the reading and the writing parts, but instead i got better grades at those parts than any other parts.^^

Reading 27
Listening 26
Speaking 26
Writing 27
Total 106
I did not study at all for this exam. I have a strong English background 'though. I think I could have done even better had I studied for the test. Overall I am happy with my score.

To rescore means that they are evaluating again the same part of the exam (speaking or writing) once again. It doesn't mean that you pass only one section once again. It comes as result that some evaluators can be subjective and too sever, and of course to get another 60-120$ from students.

I think if you could have done way better if you'd prepared at least 2-3 weeks for the test. There are some tricks and specific things to know about this test, but still a nice result.

i live in an English language society for three month now, with the purpose of transferring from my back home university to a university in Toronto, Canada.but the thing is that the DISTINGUISHED ESL could not send my score within the stated time frame and so I didn`t menage to get in for a winter session.what they did was making an announcement about their actual problem(10 days later!!!!!) with the scoring of my speaking section.they wrere not able to reveal any section`s score if they did not have it all so the GRANT me a voucher number for a free registration.AND HOW CAN THEY MAKE IT FOR THE YEAR THAT I JUST LOST? i just don`t get it how can they afford themselves to make such stupid mistakes when they are reaping us off anyways?

I took the toefl last oct . i got 109. I too share similar thoughts with the other guys above. I barely did prepare for the test.
I just wrote it without any serious preparation.
