Hey guys!!!!
Since I have a test on 23-rd February , I'm curious about on what do I have to pay attention most of all!!!??? Is there any good advice for those who have a test day coming soon?
Maybe someone knows a really good technique to study the last 2 weeks before the exam? Or I just have to continue my basic schedule? If anyone who has passed the test can help me!!! I would really appreciate that!!

question about studying and TOEFL prep #2 (permalink) Mon Feb 11, 2008 23:12 pm   question about studying and TOEFL prep

Hello TY,

Well I will recommend you to focus on PACING yourself and TIME management. If you have been practicing all the sections, and you know that there are four: ( Reading and Listening) these two demand good concentration and being attentive to each questions you will have to answer. keep practicing these ones in the same way you have been doing, BUT learn how to domain the time by taking some practice tests. Speaking, here you have to avoid being nervous, believe me you will if you think you are not doing well in the previous section or simply you didn't practice how to answer questions before, so if you haven't done this, start RIGHT NOW, record your own voice and remember TIMING yourself, keep doing this until you feel confident in both giving a good answer and talk clearly. ACCENT will not be a factor that damage your score. Finally, WRITING... this is the most compelling one, because it uses to be the last section during the test, and you probably will feel tired and anxious to finish your test. PACING in previous section will help you feel comfortable during the test and have good energies and clear minded to write a good essay. Remember you will have to write a couple of them. If you have practiced writing under TIME CONDITIONS, you have to do well in the time allowed. Don't forget that a good essay has at least: AN INTRODUCTION ( what are you going to talk about) ONE PARAGRAPH supporting the main idea and supporting details you INTRODUCED in your first paragraph, and finally A CONCLUSION. ( Summarize what you have told about the issue in your Introduction and supporting points and details.

Good Luck! and be positive!

Best regards, DAVID

Thank You again for advices!!!!
My only concern is speaking section 4, when I'm at home I speak almost like native speakers, without any accent and coherent!!! The problem is that under that stress conditions and time limits how am I going to perform!!!!???
I don't think that there's any possibility to pass for the first time, isn't there?
